TO: District Attorney Summer Stephan
FROM: SEIU-represented District Attorney Employees
We, SEIU-represented employees, working for the San Diego County District Attorney's Office, and supporters, call on San Diego County District Attorney Summer Stephan to work collaboratively with us to address numerous concerns around the current Teleworking Policy and the impact it is having on District Attorney employees.
In the interests of optimizing employee recruitment and retention and to remain an employer of choice in the region, as well as minimizing financial hardships on employees and achieving the County's sustainability goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, we call on the San Diego County District Attorney's Office, to immediately negotiate with us to achieve the following:
- Recognize the employees of the District Attorney to be just as worthy of the working conditions as their counterparts working at the San Diego County Office of the Public Defender.
- Implement a teleworking policy and/or an alternative work schedule, that mirrors the San Diego County Public Defender's Office Teleworking Policy, which allows two days of telework a week.
