San Diego Housing Commission management is proposing the following work-from-home language:

All remote work must be conducted in the United States and be within a 100-mile road route radius of the Commission’s main office at 1122 Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101. Currently employees residing outside of this radius, but within the boundaries of Southern California, will be grandfathered. Commission may permit alternative WFH locations on a case-by-case basis.

If you live outside of this area, please let us know as soon as possible by emailing Greg Thedell at greg.thedell@seiu221.org, and remember to keep using the purple Union background in virtual meetings.

Call San Diego Council Members to demand a fair contract

We showed our unity by using the purple Union background in virtual meetings.

Now we are increasing the pressure and calling City of San Diego Council Members directly. Use the contact information below to call your Council Member. If you do not live in the City of San Diego, call any Council Member. After you've called, send an email with the name of the Council Member you called and whether you received any response. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes, and we even created a sample script below to get you started.

Sample script - personalize this and put it in your own words

"Hi, This is a message for COUNCIL MEMBER'S NAME

My name is NAME and I am a resident of District NUMBER. Use this link to find your Council district. OMIT this if you don't live in the City of San Diego.

I urge you to support the vital work that the San Diego Housing Commission is doing by telling senior management to offer competitive wages to retain and attract experienced staff. SDHC's vital work to address the homelessness crisis is more important than ever. Management needs to make a realistic offer that recognizes that SDHC's critical work merits more than a 3.5 percent raise.

Thank you."
