SEIU Local 221 represents the official court reporters and the Family Court Counselors Association for the San Diego Superior Court system, which has branches in downtown San Diego, Vista, El Cajon, Chula Vista and Kearny Mesa.  Court reporters record and compile verbatim official records for all courtroom proceedings in a specialized short hand format and prepare official transcripts. The FCCA unit is composed of Family Court Counselors, Pretrial Services Officers, and Court Referral Officers.
