Court Reporters at Local 221

SEIU Local 221 represents the official court reporters for the San Diego Superior Court system, which has branches in downtown San Diego, Vista, El Cajon, Chula Vista and Kearny Mesa.  Court reporters record and compile verbatim official records for all courtroom proceedings in a specialized short hand format and prepare official transcripts.

 

Court Reporters Ratify Contract

The San Diego Superior Court Reporters, who are represented by SEIU Local 221, voted to ratify a three year contract that will be in effect until 2013. Bargaining Team members were Jamie Billings, Robin Casey, Katie Langgle, Jim Partridge, and Sandy Quinn-Smith.

 

Highlights of the three year contract include: a bonus in 2011 & 2012 and a 5% increase in healthcare flex credits for each year of the contract.

Other gains at the bargaining table include workplace improvements that will help Court Reporters provide quality services more efficiently.
