Contract Victory for Chula Vista Middle Managers/Professional Bargaining Unit

The SEIU Local 221 City of Chula Vista Middle Managers and Professional Chapter negotiated and ratified their first contract with the City of Chula Vista. This 63 person bargaining unit, the newest chapter of SEIU Local 221, has worked hard to achieve recognition and to negotiate this agreement. The unit voted December 14th, 2009 by a vote of 40 to 1 to ratify their first contract.  In a further show of solidarity, the chapter also voted to establish agency shop (fair share) in their chapter. We now have 21 new membership cards from this new chapter and look forward to growing our membership.
