ACTION ALERT: Call to support Trial Court budget

We are in jeopardy of losing the progress we made on the Trial Court budget with the State Senate because the requests don’t appear in the Assembly budget version. But we have an opportunity to get the conference committee to adopt the Senate package containing the Trial Court budget items.

Call the Assemblymembers listed below and use the suggested script that follows

Assemblymember Shirley Weber (AD 80): 916-319-2079
Speaker Anthony Rendon (AD 63): 916-319-2063
Assemblymember Kevin McCarty (AD 07): 916-319-2007
Assemblymember Phil Ting (AD 19): 916-319-2019

Hi, my name is _____________. I am a member of SEIU Local 221 and I am a court employee.

I’m calling to ask the Assemblymember to vote to adopt the Senate action on the judicial branch budget in conference committee. The Assemblymember’s support will:
• devote funding to all courts to ensure access to justice and progress on restorative justice
• close the gender pay gap in court reporter pay
• require court reporters for all vulnerable populations
• and invest in law libraries and the children’s law center

Can we count on Assemblymember ___________ to support the Senate action on the judicial branch budget in the budget conference committee?
Thank you.
