‘We look forward to working with Supervisor-Elect Fletcher to create a County that works for all San Diegans’

“Today is a new day for San Diego County. Nathan Fletcher is going to put the needs of County employees, working families and our community front and center at the Board of Supervisors. We look forward to working with him to combat homelessness and the housing crisis, invest in mental health services and create a County that works for all San Diegans.”

– David Garcias, SEIU Local 221 President

SEIU Local 221 represents more than 13,000 workers. It is a diverse, member-driven organization representing those working in many occupations to make our counties a safe and healthy place to live, work and raise our families. We represent public sector employees in San Diego and Imperial counties who work for county, city governments and school districts, as well as employees of Head Start, Red Cross, courts and clinics. We nurse our sick, educate our children, care for our seniors and provide a host of other important services throughout our communities.
