On Saturday, Dec. 10, more than 150 community members came together from San Diego Organizing Project, Mid-City Community Action Network, Employee Rights Center, the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, American Civil Liberties Union San Diego and Imperial Counties, Christie’s Place as well as SEIU Local 221 and many others.
They invested their Saturday morning and early afternoon to learn how the County of San Diego is losing money by stockpiling about $1.8 billion in Wall Street banks and falling behind other counties. Now they know it is time to take action. The next opportunity to do that is Jan. 10.
