Voter guide and volunteer opportunities

1611EndorsementsAs SEIU Local 221 President David Garcias said, “The stakes in this election could not be higher for working people.”

SEIU Local 221 members met face-to-face with many of these candidates to shape these endorsements.  Download this guide and spend some time familiarizing yourself with it. Plan to spend extra time on Nov. 8 to fully complete your ballot. It is a long one, but the issues and names on the bottom will have just as much – or more – importance to our lives as the ones on the top.

Our priority issues include voting Yes on Prop 55 to prevent $4 billion in cuts to school funding and passing San Diego’s Measures K and L to ensure full voter participation.

The work is far from over. We must make sure that we let community members know why we support these candidate and initiatives and why they are the right choice our neighborhoods’ future.

Our Member Political Organizer committee is challenging each member to sign up for at least two shifts phone banking or precinct walking. You will be pleasantly surprised by the warm reception you receive from your friends and neighbors in the community and the passion and dedication of fellow volunteers who you will be standing shoulder-to-shoulder with. Sign up for your preferred shifts for phone banking and/or precinct walking by clicking here.
