On March 18, 2013, the members of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) announced their endorsement for the following races in San Diego County:

SEIU’s endorsements are made in a town hall process in which members evaluate candidates’ policy positions, listen to them speak, interview them, and then make their recommendations. The town halls are open to all members in each district.

SEIU California is a coalition of janitors, social workers, security officers, home care workers, head start workers, school and university employees, healthcare workers, and city, county and state employees represented by SEIU local unions throughout California. SEIU locals with membership in San Diego County include SEIU 221, SEIU Local 1000 and SEIU-USWW.
Chula Vista Employees Association (CVEA) met with the City on March 4th and proposed wage increases for all employee’s. The CVEA bargaining team will meet with management again on March 28th.
During last year’s contract negotiations, you proved that CVEA EMPLOYEES HAVE THE POWER TO IMPROVE OUR FUTURES! You attended rallies and City Council meetings, gave your personal testimonies, and showed that there is strength in numbers and your voices were heard! WE MUST NOT LOSE OUR MOMENTUM as we keep pressing towards recovering the wages that were promised to us!
The Fiscal Year 2015 budget will be presented at the City Council meeting next Tuesday. We are asking ALL employees to request time off to attend in purple shirts. This will be our first action and full participation is critical:
